ALICE RHODES

ALICE MAE RHODES, one of fifteen children born to William Thomas and Lela Elizabeth (Farrow) Idlett, was born April 23, 1939 at Lexington, OK.  She departed this life on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at her home in Seiling following a period of illness.  She was 72 years of age.

      Alice was raised in the Lexington community where she attended Lexington School.  She was united in marriage to William Kenneth Rhodes, April 18, 1967 at Chickasha.  They have made their home in the Seiling community where they raised their two children: Kenberly Louise "Ken" and William James "Jay".  Kenneth worked in the oilfields for many years.  Alice worked in the deli at Seiling Foods but mostly she was a housewife and homemaker for her family.

      She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Rhodes and her children Ken Rhodes and Jay Rhodes all of Seiling; five grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. four sisters, Mary Bell Cooksey, Fanny Virginia Andrews, Nita Joann Parker and Doris Jean Compton; two brothers, Andrew Jackson Idlett and Robert William Idlett.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren, one great grandchild, four sisters and four brothers. 

      Private family services will be held at a later date.
