ALLEN NOBLE

WILLARD ALLEN NOBLE, son of William Henry and Nellie Marie (Ely) Noble, was born August 18, 1919 near Belva, Oklahoma in Major County.  He departed this life on Friday, August 5, 2011 at his home southwest of Fairview.  He was 91 years of age.

      He was known by his family and friends as Allen and he attended school at Cheyenne Valley graduating from high school there with the class of 1938.  He furthered his education by attending Northwestern State College in Alva two years.  He entered the United States Army in 1941 and served his country both in the European Theater and the Asiatic Pacific during World War II.  He was an airplane armorer gunner serving as an air crewman with the 67th bomb squad.  He received several medals and awards during his military career.  He was honorably discharged in 1945.  Allen returned to Oklahoma and was united in marriage to Marianna Hopper, August 21, 1948 at Perryton, Texas.  They made their first home in Duncan and later moved to Blanchard.  In 1964, they moved to South Dakota and in 1965, the purchased land at Long Lake where they lived several years.  In 1985, they moved to Chester, Oklahoma.  Marianna preceded him in death, June 4, 1998 and he later moved to the Fairview area where he continued to make his home.  Allen worked as a farmer and rancher.  Over the years, he had numerous race horses which gave him much enjoyment and he loved to rodeo with his younger brother Charlie.  He was baptized in the Methodist Church in Leola, South Dakota and was a member of the Cheyenne Valley Methodist Church.

      Allen is survived by his children: Gerald Noble and wife Janet of Ipswick, SD, Bill Noble of Fairview and Alana Beth Pope and husband Dennis of Yukon; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; one sister Lois Ridgeway of Tyler, TX, two brothers: Jim Noble of Alva and Charles Noble of Yale.  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers. 

      The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 at the Cheyenne Valley Methodist Church with Pastor Barbara Fyffe, officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow in the Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of the Redinger Funeral Home in Seiling.
