BILL STEWART

 BILLY CLARK STEWART, oldest son of Elmer Newton and Vera Amanda (Brewer) Stewart, was born June 11, 1929 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He departed this life on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Veteran’s Center in Norman, Oklahoma.  He was 80 years of age.

      Bill grew up in Fairview where he attended school.  He graduated from Fairview High School with the class of 1948.  He furthered his education at the University of Oklahoma in Norman two years.  He entered the United States Air Force and served his country during the Korean Conflict.  He was honorably discharged in 1952.  Bill began his working career with the John A. Brown Company in Oklahoma City where he worked as an interior decorator.  He was very artistic and he enjoyed oil painting.  Due to his failing health, he entered the Veteran’s Center in Norman where he has made his home for several years.

      He is survived by one brother: Andy Stewart and his wife Kitty of Chester; two nephews: Chris Stewart and wife Michelle and Curtis Stewart and wife Bonita both of Chester; his great nephew and niece: Baxter and Jordan Stewart, besides other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents. 

      The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2009 at the Redinger Funeral Home with Orville White, Pastor of the Elm Grove Community Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hope Cemetery southeast of Chester.
