BROOK BOHARD

BROOK DIANE BOHARD, youngest daughter of Johnny and LaWanda (Barrett) Bohard, was born March 17, 1989 at Fairfax, Oklahoma.  She departed this life on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City following a sudden illness.  She was 20 years of age.      

Brook began her formal education in Hominy where she spent her childhood.  She moved to Major County with her family in 2001 where they made their home west of Fairview.  She attended Fairview School and later transferred to Seiling High School where she was a cheerleader and participated in several activities.  She graduated from Seiling High School with the class of 2007, and then furthered her education at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva where she was studying nursing.  She was a member of the Orion Baptist Church where she was active in the youth program.  She especially enjoyed summer camp at Falls Creek.

      She is survived by her parents: Johnny and LaWanda Bohard of Fairview; two brothers: Jason Bohard of Pawhuska and Justin Bohard and wife Kimber of Meridian; four sisters: Brittany Paddock and husband Chris of Lexington, MO, Brandi Smith of Akron, OH, Sara Bohard of Stillwater and Bridget Bohard and Derek Mapp of Cache; maternal grandmother: Bonnie Jo Barrett of Fairfax and paternal grandmother: Gladys Evelyn Smith of Ponca City.  She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by both grandfathers: Henry Barrett and Bob Smith. 
 

      A Celebration of Life service was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Orion Baptist Church with Pastor Mat Riddle and Leroy Goodman, officiating.  Interment followed in the Orion Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to the Orion Baptist Youth with the Redinger Funeral Home-PO Box 236-Seiling, OK 73663, serving as custodian of the funds.
