BURL KENNETH
BUFFALOMEAT, was born December 4, 1976 at Waynoka, Oklahoma.
He departed this life early Monday, January 30, 2012 at OU Medical
Center in Edmond as a result of injuries he received in an
automobile accident. He was 35 .
He
grew up in Seiling where he attended Seiling School. He
attended Sequoyah School in Tahlequah where he studied culinary
arts. He was a member of the Kit Fox Dog Soldier Society and
was a Cheyenne ceremonial instructor. He was a member of the
Native American Church and Cheyenne Sundance. He was proud to
have earned his Class A CDL which helped him with several job
opportunities including driving for Beaver Express and TXD Trucking.
He
is survived by his mother, Dana Lynn Buffalomeat of Seiling, his
adopted dad, Burl Buffalomeat of Seiling, his companion and best
friend, Christy Sue Nowlin of Clinton, one daughter, Brooke Kylee
Buffalomeat-Paris of Seiling, three sons, Bryce Kendall Buffalomeat
of Geary and his mother, Denise Wilson, A. J. Nowlin-Paris of
Seiling and Thomas Arthur Rage Temple of Woodward, three sisters,
Tiffany Bocanegra and husband Eliseo of Oklahoma City, Tamra Ortega
and husband Cornelio of Seiling and Tabitha Beaver of Enid, two
brothers, Bryan Sevenstar and wife Alisha of El Reno and Ralph
Birdshead of Calumet and a half brother, Cochise No Ear of Ponca
City, three aunts who helped raise him, Rowena Beaver, Susie
Wolfmule and Josephine Borunda and a special aunt, Frances Garcia,
two special grandmothers, Rita Black and Edna Sutton and a special
mother-in-law, Dovie Nowlin. He was preceded in death by his
grandparents who raised him as their own, Raymond and Norma
Buffalomeat.
A wake service was held at 7:00 p.m.. Thursday, Feb.
2, 2012 at the Seiling-Fonda Community Center. The funeral
service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Seiling-Fonda Community Center with Pastor Gerald Panana,
officiating. Burial followed in the Brumfield Cemetery.
