CALLIE BEERS

 CALLIE ELIZABETH BEERS, daughter of Charles Fitzgerald and Minnie Pearl (Morrow) Sullivan, was born August 22, 1914 at Apache, Oklahoma.  She departed this life Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Hospice Quality Care in Midwest City at the age of 95.

      Callie was one of ten children and was raised near Sentinel where she attended school.  She also attended Custer City School.  She was united in marriage to Joe Beers, February 21, 1935 at Taloga.  They made their home near Putnam where they raised their three children: Doyle Ray, David Mark and Judy Annette.  Callie worked along side her husband on the family farm and was a homemaker for her family.  She enjoyed flowers, raising a garden, sewing and she liked listening to gospel music.  She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Putnam where she was the song leader and served as the church secretary for many years.  She was preceded in death by her husband December 17, 1985 and she continued to make her home on the family farm with her son Doyle.

      She is survived by two sons: Doyle Beers of Putnam, Mark Beers and wife Donita of Blair; one daughter: Judy Whitacre and husband J. C. of Putnam; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister: Dorothy Owens of Marysville, CA and one brother: Joe Sullivan of Weatherford.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.  Besides her husband, she was preceded by her parents, four sisters and three brothers. 

      The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Putnam Christian Church with Pastors Dennis Adair and David Beck, officiating.  Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to the Putnam Community Center with the Redinger Funeral Home-PO Box 236-Seiling, OK 73663 serving as custodian of the funds.
