DARREL DAILY
Charles Darrel Daily was born Jan 15, 1948 in
Oklahoma City to John Charles and Vernice Lorene Ragan Daily. He
spent his first ten years living in Oklahoma City with his parents
and two brothers. At age ten the family moved to South Coffeyville,
OK where he resided until he graduated from Lenapah High School.
He was united in marriage to Carol Carnagey. April 15, 1966. Two
sons were born to this union, Curtis Edward and Bradley Allen.
Darrel attended Coffeyville Junior College and then Oklahoma State
University, majoring in business. Darrel worked at several vocations
before landing in Taloga during the oil boom of the early 1980's. He
opened a restaurant in Taloga and then became city manager. He loved
this job and made many major improvements to the town while working
there. In 1982 he met a local school teacher. Karen Donley and
Darrel were married May 28, 1983. They were blessed with two
daughters, Heather Marie and Jessica Elizabeth. In 1990 Darrel and
Karen opened Western Medical Equipment. Darrel worked long hours to
ensure the success of the business. All of his children worked in
the business at some point.
Darrel loved playing golf and being around his family and friends.
His favorite end to a week was going out to eat with friends. He had
been an avid hunter and fisherman for years, but had basically given
it up. Then along came a grandson, Logan. Darrel and Logan have
spent the last several years hunting together. These hunting times
were the highlight of his life.
Darrel was saved at age 10. He was a member of
The Taloga Christian Church and a former Taloga Town Board member.
Darrel has spent the last three years fighting for his life due to
pulmonary fibrosis. He lost the fight Christmas Day 2011.
Darrel is survived by his wife Karen, his sons Curtis and wife
Michelle, grand kids Courtni, Logan, and Raegan of Okemah, Brad and
wife Julie and grandson Mason of Woodward, his daughters, Heather
Hudson and husband Erik of Weatherford and Jessica, a student at
OSU. He is also survived by his mother, Vernice Daily of Taloga,
brothers Robert Daily and Gary Daily of South Coffeyville, many
nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in
death by his father, John Charles Daily in 2010.
He will be greatly missed.
The
funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011
at the Taloga School Auditorium with Pastors Allan Patterson and
Michael Brien, officiating. Interment followed in the Brumfield
Cemetery at Seiling. Memorials can be made to the Taloga
Beautification Committee with the Redinger Funeral Home-Box
236-Seiling, OK 73663 serving as custodian of the funds.
