DOROTHY ENGLE

           DOROTHY MARGARET ENGLE, daughter of Oscar and Alice (Hilton) Brown, was born February 21, 1919 at Seiling.  She died Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Seiling Nursing Center at the age of 92 years.

            Dorothy was raised and educated at Seiling.  She graduated from Seiling High School and later graduated from Enid Beauty College.  She was united in marriage to Dan Houston Engle, July 12, 1941 at Taloga, OK.  They made their first home in Taloga where Dorothy worked in a beauty shop.  They moved to Oklahoma City where Dan took classes in electronics.  They moved to Pampa, TX where Dan worked on radio equipment at the Pampa Air Field.  They returned to Seiling in 1944 where they continued to make their home and raise their only son, Dale.  Dorothy worked at the Seiling Post Office and cared for her mother until her death but mostly she was a homemaker for her family.

            She is survived by two grandchildren, John Engle and wife Heather of Tulsa and Dawn Engle of Oklahoma City, her daughter-in-law, Jeanette Engle of Minco, as well as, two sisters-in-law: Ila Marie Canada and Janis Vache and husband Larry all of Oklahoma City.  She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dan in 2002, her son Dale in 1984 and two brothers, Gilbert and Robert Brown.

             The graveside service was held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the Brumfield Cemetery under the direction of the Redinger Funeral Home.
