EARL HALDAMAN,
oldest son of Milton T. and Evelyn (Crowner) Haldaman, was born
August 23, 1942 on the family farm northeast of Chester, Oklahoma in
Major County. He departed this life on Saturday, March 6, 2010
following a sudden illness. He was 67 years of age.
Earl
was raised near Chester and he attended all twelve years of school
at Seiling, graduating from Seiling High School with the class of
1961. He began working as a mechanic for Ray Burchett
Implement Company in Seiling in 1961. He was united in
marriage to Karen Holub, September 6, 1963 at the Methodist Church
in Seiling. They made their home in Seiling where they raised
their daughters: Annette and Merisha. Earl and Karen later
purchased the business from Ray Burchett and re-named their business
Haldaman Tractor & Auto Repair which they operated until their
retirement. Earl was active in the Seiling community where he
served several terms on the town board and was a member of the
Seiling Fire Department until retiring. He maintained the
Chester Cemetery 33 years. Earl and Karen moved to their farm
southeast of Chester in 1992 where he enjoyed working the ground and
raising cattle. He liked to hunt and fish and he especially
liked taking his grandchildren 4-wheeling. Earl loved the Lord and
he liked to study the Bible. He and Karen were active in the
Richmond Church Bible study group.
He
is survived by his wife, Karen Haldaman of Chester; one daughter:
Merisha Willson and husband J. B. of Greencastle, PA; nine
grandchildren: Chris, David, Reese and Shayla McCraw; Trent, Derrick
and Dillon Willson and Matthew and Mark Clark; four sisters: Myrna
Carpenter and husband Harold of Fairgrove, MO, Carol Steele and
husband Leslie of Broken Bow, Leslee Chapman of Chester and Lois
Wood of Wakita; two brothers: Dale Haldaman and wife Pat of Fairview
and Steve Haldaman of Joplin, MO. He is also survived by
numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was
preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Annette McCraw March
7, 1999 and one sister: Verla Severn.
The
funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at
the First United Methodist Church in Seiling with Pastor Rick
Forthman, officiating. Interment will follow in the Chester
Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Chester Historical
Society Building Fund with the Redinger Funeral Home-Box
236-Seiling, OK 73663 serving as custodian of the funds.
