ELDON MEISTER
ELDON
RAE MEISTER, son of Harry and Clara Belle (Simons) Meister, was born
November 21, 1954 in Enid, OK . He departed this life on
Friday, September 9, 2011 at his home northwest of Chester,
Oklahoma. He was 56 years of age.
He
was raised in Wichita, Kansas where he attended school. He
attended two years at Campus High School in Wichita, then the family
moved to Ringwood, OK where he completed his high school education
and graduated from Ringwood High School with the class of 1973.
He attended computer programming school in Dallas, TX and later he
furthered his education by attending a vocational technical school
in Wichita where he began his career in the plumbing industry.
He was united in marriage to Linda Pauls, July 15, 1978 at Wichita.
They made their first home in Maize, KS and in 1981, they moved to
Chester, Oklahoma where they have lived since. Eldon was self
employed and owned and operated Eldon Meister Plumbing in Seiling
over thirty years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, nature
watching and was a member of the NRA. He liked raising exotic
animals and he enjoyed designing and constructing projects. He
was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Ringwood and he attended the
First Baptist Church in Seiling.
He
is survived by his wife, Linda Meister of Chester, one son, Josh
Meister and wife Christina of Rogers, AR, two daughters, Sarah Mabra
and husband Jason of Mooreland and Laura Duffy and husband Marcus of
Duncan; six grandchildren: Silas, Nolan and Autumn Mabra, Adalyn
Meister, Sylvia and Ridge Duffy; one sister, Sheryl Gard and husband
Wendell of Carrier, four brothers: Steve Meister and wife Melinda,
Doug Meister and wife Linda, Scott Conaway and wife Tammy and Kelly
Conaway and wife Cindy all of Ringwood. He is also survived by
several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. He
was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Jesse Rae Mabra
and one nephew, Matthew Meister.
The
funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 13,
2011 at the Elm Grove Community Church with Pat Dougherty, Pastor of
the First Baptist Church in Seiling, officiating. The
graveside service followed at 3:00 p.m. in the Square Cedar Cemetery
northeast of Cleo Springs in Major County. Memorials can be
made to the Eldon Meister Memorial Fund with the Redinger Funeral
Home-PO Box 236-Seiling, OK 73663 serving as custodian of the
funds.
