ELIZABETH TIDBALL
ELIZABETH ETTA TIDBALL, daughter of Charles Henry and Katherine Ann
(Beaver) Stringer, was born May 12, 1920 at Oakwood, Oklahoma.
She departed this life on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at the Seiling
Nursing Center at the age of 89 years.
Elizabeth
was raised and educated at Oakwood in Dewey County. She was
united in marriage to Milford Daniel Tidball September 5, 1936 at
Watonga. They made their home in Oakwood, later moving to
Goodland, KS and Stokesbury, MO. They returned to the Oakwood
area in 1959. Elizabeth worked at Midway Café in Oakwood
several years and she also hung wallpaper for many people.
They moved to Seiling in 1978 where she worked at Brownies Café
before going to work at the Seiling-Chester Center for Senior
Citizens as their cook. She retired in 2000 after working
there twenty years. Milford preceded her nineteen years to the
day of her death on September 13, 1990. Elizabeth was
known as a wonderful cook and for her noodles and cinnamon rolls.
She also enjoyed quilting. She was proud to have been named
Seiling’s Business Woman of the Year in 2000. She was an active
member of the Seiling Assembly of God Church.
She
is survived by one daughter: Thressa Scroggins of Oklahoma City; two
sons: Gary Tidball and wife Vickie of Oklahoma City and Melvin
Tidball and wife Dianna of Sayre; seven grandchildren and eight
great grandchildren; two sisters: Mae Ellen Roper of Seiling and
Lahoma Barnett of Wilson. She is also survived by numerous
nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Besides her
husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one
granddaughter: Gayla Kay Tidball, one daughter-in-law: Cynthia
Tidball, one son-in-law: Milford Scroggins; one sister and two
brothers.
The
funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 16,
2009 at the Redinger Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in
the Evergreen Cemetery near Oakwood. Memorials can be made to
the Seiling Assembly of God Church through the Redinger Funeral
Home-Box 236-Seiling, OK 73663.
