FRED
R. CLINE, one of five children born to Leslie Harold and Arvilla
Lorene (Baker) Cline, was born November 8, 1939 on the family farm
in Dewey County near Fay, Oklahoma. He departed this life on
Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at his home near Fay at the age of 70
years.
Fred
was raised in the Fay and Oakwood Communities and he attended all
twelve years of formal education at the Oakwood School, graduating
from high school with the class of 1959. He furthered his
education by attending the National School of Aeronautics in Kansas
City, MO. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served his
country two separate tours. He was stationed in the
Philippines for much of his second enlistment. He worked as an
aeronautical de-coder for the Navy. He was honorably
discharged in October, 1967. He was united in marriage to
Marie Fletcher, January 27, 1969 in Oklahoma City. They made
their home in Oklahoma City and later Yukon where he was employed as
cargo manager for Braniff Airways. In 1987, he moved his
family to the family farm in Dewey County where they have continued
to make their home. He worked for Dewey County District 2 as a
heavy equipment operator and was still working at the time of his
sudden death. Fred enjoyed fishing and quail hunting and he
also liked playing his guitar. Mostly, he loved his family,
children and grandchildren.
He
is survived by his wife Marie of Fay; one son: Ron Cline and wife
Kavi of Fay; one daughter: Trisha Thompson and husband Jeff of
Fargo; two grandchildren: Conner and Destinie Thompson; one brother:
Dwane Cline and wife Virginia of Watonga; three sisters: Roberta
Rice of Oklahoma City, Lavona Harding and husband Dan of Clay
Center, KS and Velta Quintle and husband Edward of Omega. He
is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and
many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The
funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 12,
2009 at the Oakwood Auditorium with Jim Beukleman, Pastor of the
First Christian Church in Hinton, officiating. Interment with
military honors will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Fay.

custodian of the funds.
