LELAND ROBERTSON

           LELAND T. ROBERTSON, son of Roy Byron and Arrena Frances (Hite) Robertson, was born July 6, 1918 near Putnam, OK in Dewey County.  He departed this life late Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Clinton at the age of 91 years.

            Leland was raised in the Putnam Community where he attended school.  He entered the United States Army Air Corp in 1941.  He was united in marriage to Juanita M. Hill in 1944 at Pampa, TX.  They had three sons: William Byron, Richard Glen and Thomas Lynn.  He received his honorable discharge in 1945 and they returned to Oklahoma.  In 1957, they moved to Clinton where he lived until 1961.  In December 1965, he married Laura Pisacka and they made their home near Putnam for many years.

           Leland worked as a rancher which he enjoyed very much.  He also did custom harvesting from Texas to North Dakota for several years.  He was a lifetime member of the Clinton American Legion and he enjoyed playing cards and dominos with his family and friends.  He was a member of the Putnam Christian Church.

            He is survived by two sons: Bill Robertson and wife Karen and Tom Robertson and wife Janet both of Putnam; five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; one brother Loyd Robertson and wife Edna of Putnam and he is also survived by several nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Richard Robertson and three brothers: Johnny, Orley and Clifford Robertson.

             The funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Putnam Christian Church with Pastor David Beck, officiating.  Interment with military honors followed in the Fairview Cemetery northeast of Putnam.  Memorials can be made to the Putnam Senior Center with the Redinger Funeral Home-Box 236-Seiling, OK 73663 serving as custodian of the funds.
