LILLIAN NORRIS
LILLIAN MAE NORRIS
was born April 2, 1915 at Dustin, OK in Hughes County to William and
Lina (Jones) McGuire. She departed this life at her home near
Oakwood, November 9, 2009 at the age of 94 years.
She
was united in marriage to George LaFave in 1933. They had two
children: Grace and Pat. In 1941, she began working at the
Ammunition Depot in McAlester until 1945. In 1946, she married
John Norris and they moved to their farm southwest of Oakwood where
she has continued to live.
She
is survived by one daughter: Grace McNeill of Firestone, CO; one
son: Pat LaFave and wife Deva of Seiling; five grandchildren, eight
great grandchildren and seven step-great-great grandchildren; one
sister: Lois Nickels of Sharon; two brothers: W. D. McGuire of
Disney and James McGuire of Edmond. She is also survived by
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded
in death by both husbands, her parents, three sisters and one
brother.
A
graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12,
2009 at the Oakwood Memorial Cemetery with grandson, Greg Stong,
officiating. Services are under the direction of the Redinger
Funeral Home in Seiling.
