MIKE PARKER

  MICHAEL J. “MIKE” PARKER, son of Grover Nelson and Deloris (Culver) Parker, was born June 27, 1957 at Fairview, Oklahoma.  He died Saturday, November 21, 2009 in Roberts County Texas as a result of injuries from an oil rig accident.  He was 52 years of age.

      Mike was raised southwest of Fairview and received all his formal education at the Fairview School where he graduated high school with the class of 1975.  He married Jeanie Redinger, January 20, 1978 at the Cedar Springs Church southwest of Fairview.  They made their home in the Orion community where they raised their four children: Matt, Patience, Jennifer and JP.  Mike had worked in the oil fields for several years and was currently employed with Nomac Drilling.  He liked to fish and he had a special enjoyment for his dogs.

      He is survived by two sons: Matt Parker of Drumright and JP Parker of Chester; two daughters: Patience Smart and husband Kyle of Seiling and Jennifer Parker of Canton; two grandchildren: Karley and Kason Smart; his friend: Rhonda Reininger of Longdale; three sisters: Sue Volkmer of Kansas City, MO, Sharon Meiseman of Dallas, TX and Shirley Green of Albuquerque, NM.  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents. 

      The funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene with Orville White, Pastor of the Elm Grove Community Church, officiating.  Interment  followed in the Orion Cemetery under the direction of the Redinger Funeral Home in Seiling.
