PEARLA MAE HALE, daughter of Claude Arlington and Lula Lee (Kirkham)
Hale, was born December 21, 1923 at Oakwood, Oklahoma in Dewey
County. She departed this life on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the
Seiling Nursing Center following a long illness. She was 85 years
of age.
Pearla
was raised and educated at Oakwood and she graduated from Oakwood
High School in 1942. She liked to read and she also enjoyed
gardening and always raised flowers and vegetables which she
shared with family and friends. She worked on the family farm
until 1961 when she moved to Watonga. She never married but cared
for her parents until their deaths. She worked in the housekeeping
department of the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Watonga from 1970 –
1983. Due to failing health, she returned to Oakwood to make her
home with her great niece, Angie Crowder and her husband Terry who
survive her. Other survivors include other nieces, nephews,
family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one
brother: Ralph Hale and two sisters: Alma Holsapple and Edith
Sturgeon.
A
graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 15,
2009 at the Oakwood Memorial Cemetery near Oakwood with Mike
Ransom officiating. Services were under the direction of the
Redinger Funeral Home in Seiling.
