REKA TERREL

REKA TERREL, daughter of Charley and Ella (Blumer) Miller, was born January 27, 1914 at Lenora, OK in Dewey County.  She departed this life on Thursday, October 15, 2009 near Mutual, OK at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Gena and Tom Christensen.  She was 95 years of age.

      Reka attended Riley School through the sixth grade, Lenora School through the ninth grade, and her high school years were at Richmond, graduating with the class of 1931.  She was united in marriage to Lenn Terrel, May 24, 1932 at Woodward.  They have made their home in the Cestos Community where they raised their five children.

She has worked as a homemaker for her family where she enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing, crocheting and quilting.  She was a member of the Home Betterment Club where she served in both local and county offices and she was a charter member of the Community Ambulance Board in Seiling.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Seiling and taught Sunday school many years.  She held both district and state offices in the CWF. 

      She is survived by one son: Kent Terrel and wife Cathy of Vici, three daughters: Cara Charboneau of Vici, Anita Branstetter and husband Ron of San Antonio, TX and Gena Christensen and husband Tom of Mutual; seventeen grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Ada Fuqua of Seiling and Theta Miller of Oklahoma City.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lenn Terrel July 1, 1997, one daughter: Lennet Bledsoe, two sons-in-law: Don Bledsoe and Roger Charboneau; one sister: Peggy Fuqua and three brothers: Grof, Tate and Kenneth Miller. 

      The funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the First Christian Church in Seiling with Pastor Dennis Adair, officiating.  Interment followed in the Riley Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to the First Christian Church or to the Riley Cemetery with the Redinger Funeral Home-Box 236-Seiling, OK 73663 serving as custodian of the funds.
