ROBIE BENSCH
ROBIE JANE
BENSCH, oldest child and only daughter of Ewel Edwin and Mary Ellen
(Dabney) Vaughan, was born December 14, 1950 at Norman, Oklahoma.
She departed this life early Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the
Seiling Community Hospital following a sudden illness. She was
60 years of age.
Robie's
father was a minister and the Vaughan family lived in several
locations including Ardmore, Norman, Enid and to Nebraska from 1958
to 1963. In 1963, they moved to Seiling where Ewel became the
pastor of the First Christian Church and Robie graduated high school
with the class of 1969. She furthered her education at
Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa where she received her
associate degree in Applied Science Nursing and became a registered
nurse in September 1982.
She
was united in marriage to Lyle Bensch, March 12, 2001 and they have
made their home in Seiling since where she has worked at the Seiling
Hospital until retirement.
She
is survived by her husband Lyle of Seiling, one daughter, Stephanie
Starks and husband Kent of Derby, KS, two sons, Justin Williams and
wife Kayanna of Alva and Brian Williams and wife Stacie of
Stillwater; her mother, Mary Vaughan of Seiling, seven
grandchildren, three brothers, Danny Vaughan and wife Diane of
Seiling, Tim Vaughan and wife Cindee of Houston, TX and Mark Vaughan
and wife Andrea of Tulsa, three step children, Brian Bensch and wife
Kelly of Chester, Jeff Bensch and wife Greta of Mustang and Rachelle
Rogers and husband Jeremy of Seiling, and seven step grandchildren.
She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Ewel Vaughan
September 10, 2009 and one step grandson, Jesse James Rogers April
8, 2001.
The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 21,
2011 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastors Orville White
and Paul Hamilton, officiating. Interment followed in
the Brumfield Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Area
Medical Foundation with Redinger Funeral Home-Box 236-Seiling, OK
73663 serving as custodian of the funds.
