RUTH HARGIS
RUTH ANN HARGIS, daughter of Claude P. and Jessie Lee (Emerson)
Lovett, was born December 11, 1915 at Taloga, Oklahoma. She
departed this life on Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Woodward
Hospital. She was 93 years of age.
Ruth
was raised at Taloga and began her elementary school years at the
Eureka country school and she attended Taloga High School. She
was united in marriage to Lewis L. Hargis, April 17, 1938 at Taloga.
They made their first home in Taloga until 1943 when they moved to
their farm in the Richmond Community in Woodward County where they
continued to make their home and raise their family. Ruth
enjoyed helping with the farm work and cattle. She was an avid
reader and she was a member of the Richmond Home Betterment Club and
the Seiling Music Lovers Club. She was a member of the
Richmond Christian Church where she taught Sunday school.
She
is survived by two sons: Gary Hargis and wife Debbie of Mooreland
and Bob Hargis of Mutual; two daughters: Janice Baker and husband
Jerry of Ardmore and Peggy Siegrist and husband Fred of Eastlake,
CO; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister:
Lila Hollaway of Denver, CO and she is also survived by several
nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was
preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lewis Hargis, August
2, 1971, four sisters and two brothers.
A
graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 9,
2009 in the Brumfield Cemetery with Pastor Shane Sander,
officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Seiling
Ambulance Fund with the Redinger Funeral Home-Box 236-Seiling, OK
73663, serving as custodian of the funds.
